A step above others of its type

Ive played any number of farming-type games and this one is much more engaging than any of the others Ive played to date (FarmVille, Peter Rabbit and Alice from this publisher, Tiny Sheep, etc.) The difference is, in this game youre not just farming so you can make money to buy decorations. Youre running a tiny economy. You have to think about what you want to do to accomplish what you need - say you need to catch a fish but you also need to make a hat, do you craft boats or buttons first?

The trips and parties add variety to the game and keep you from feeling like youre just grinding to level up. There has been something new at each level so far (Im at 24) so you never hit a new level with no reward. You can play without having to spend any of the rubies they give you (the cash-purchasable currency) although I think theyre fairly generous at giving them out; just enough to occasionally use them to speed things up. If you want all the deco youll have to pay. There are no missions where you have to buy anything with rubies, which I appreciate.

So, gameplay is very satisfying and fair, and yes, the illustrations are cute. The characters even have different expressions and ways of moving. I really enjoy this game and highly recommend it.
